The objectives and purposes of the Houston Military Affairs Committee (HMAC) are to promote the image of the Armed Forces of the United States by providing a forum for appropriate speakers, participating in special events having local and national significance, supporting the activities of both Active and Reserve Forces, and creating an organization which will meet the professional and social needs of its members in the Houston area.
In support of the Armed Forces of the United States, every year the Houston Military Affairs Committee (HMAC) organizes the Houston Military Affairs Ball. The ball is sponsored annually by a different branch of the military. the 2009 Houston Military Affairs Ball was proudly sponsored by the United States Coast Guard with Commander Lamar Johnson leading the planning and execution of this prestigious event.

The Houston Military Affairs Committee was formed in 1931 as part of the Chamber of Commerce and is now an independent 501-c-3 non-profit organization. HMAC is a member of the Greater Houston Partnership.
HMAC is dedicated to supporting the military and veterans in the greater Houston area. This is accomplished by conducting the Annual Armed Forces Day Military Ball as a benefit to support the USO which helps our servicemen locally and in transit at our two airports. We are resuming ROTC/JROTC awards, as well as serviceperson-of-the-year awards to honor our outstanding active, reserve, and guard enlisted personnel.
Other efforts include our web site http://www.HMAC.us and this weekly Email to inform about military and veterans activities in the region.
All of these projects require the help of many people and we ask you to join to assist in these efforts. An application is available at the HMAC web site http://www.HMAC.us
